Atwater and Gully marriage

Kathryn Elizabeth Atwater and LT Mathew Allen Gully were married on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Antioch Baptist Church in Chapel Hill, NC. Reverend David Atwater, father of the bride, officiated. A reception was held following the ceremony at Rock Quarry Farm.
Kathryn is the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. J. David Atwater of Chapel Hill. She is the granddaughter of Mr. & Mrs. Howard Smith of Chapel Hill, and the late Mr. & Mrs. Jeff Atwater.
Matthew is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Richard Gully of Lubbock, TX. He is the grandson of Mr. & Mrs. Cecil Halfmann of Garden City, TX; Mrs. Laverne Gully and the late Mr. Hilary Gully of Olfen, TX.
The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Geoffrey Atwater. Her matron of honor was Rachel Wade of Pace, FL, and her maid of honor was Alex Colley of Pensacola, FL. Bridesmaids were Lisa Cumberland of Pace, FL; Jamie Gully of Frisco, TX; Jessica Lemmer of Annandale, VA; Meredith Marceau of Raleigh, NC and MacKenzie Marceau of Cary, NC. Arielle Webster of Chapel Hill served as junior bridesmaid. Little Miss Lauren Baker of Chapel Hill was flower girl. Honorary attendants were Jessica Atwater, sister-in-law of the bride; Kayleen Atwater and Madison Atwater, nieces of the bride.
Richard Gully of Lubbock, TX, father of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Garrett Faulkner of Antelope, CA; Landon Fisher of San Angelo, TX; Brandon Halfmann of Louisville, KY; John Lee of Dix Hills, NY; Jason Satterwhite of Big Lake, TX; Brad Winans of Mobile, AL; and Geoffrey Atwater. Master Kyle Baker of Chapel Hill rang the ceremonial church bells.
Music was provided by Mrs. Hilda Durham, pianist; and Mrs. Debbie Bowden, soloist.
The bride graduated from Pace High School in Pace, Florida. She received her Associate of Arts degree from Andrew College in Cuthbert, GA, and graduated in December 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from the University of West Florida.
The groom is a 2004 graduate of the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Marine and Environmental Science. He is currently stationed in Houston, TX as a search and rescue pilot with the Coast Guard.
The couple honeymooned in Barbados, and will make their home in Houston.
