NAVARRE — A 31-year-old woman was arrested for battery after beating her boyfriend and destroying his things during a fight.

A Santa Rosa County sheriff’s deputy was called to a home in reference to a disturbance. A man said he and his live-in girlfriend of 1½ years got into an argument that turned physical.

As she was destroying his personal things, she also punched him in the face, he told the deputy. The punch caused his nose and upper lip to bleed. She then started to throw things which hit him several times.

She worked her way outside and threw his work materials into the front yard. The woman then locked herself in her bedroom and refused to come out, even after the deputy asked multiple times. The deputy got a key and went into the room. The woman was lying in bed and didn’t want to talk.

The deputy removed the covers and detained the woman. She told the deputy nothing happened and she was lying in bed asleep. She finally said they were arguing because the man took her mail and was having an affair with his ex-wife.
