MILTON — A Gulf Breeze woman was arrested on seven felony drug charges at a convenience store Sunday after deputies found an assortment of drugs on her following an hour-long stint in the bathroom.

Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson announced the arrest at a press conference Wednesday, saying a store employee called police at around 2 p.m. Sunday after two women entered the store bathroom and didn’t come out for over an hour.

When deputies arrived, the women were still in the store. A deputy made contact with 22-year-old Sarah Meehan of Gulf Breeze, who admitted to having controlled substances in her possession.

Meehan was searched and deputies found 69 grams of marijuana, 123 Xanax bars, 31 oxycodone pills, 34 ecstasy pills, 6.2 grams of heroin, 5.1 grams of cocaine and 35.7 grams of methamphetamines.

Meehan was arrested and charged with trafficking in heroin and methamphetamine, both first-degree felonies. She was also charged with five counts of drug possession, all third-degree felonies.

She is being held in the Santa Rosa County Jail on $125,000 bond, Johnson said.

“Across the state, we have a heroin problem and a methamphetamine problem,” Johnson said. “Santa Rosa County is no different.”
