CHIPLEY -- Chipley City Council presented proclamations Tuesday that recognized the accomplishments of two city football teams.

City officials welcomed families and supporters of Chipley Pee Wee Football Team and Cheerleaders and Chipley Mites Football Team and Cheerleaders in recognition of both teams and their accomplishments at the Chipley City Council meeting, held at City Hall, 652 Third St.

According to the proclamation, the former had a record of seven wins and zero losses and were division champions in their league and Super Bowl champions. The Mites had a record of six wins and only one loss and were also division champions in their league and Super Bowl champions.

The council, along with Tourist Development Council Director Heather Lopez, recognized the float winners of the Chipley Christmas Parade.

First place was Chipley Physical Therapy, second place was Wal-Mart and third place was Chipley First Baptist Church.
