Nicholls football coach to headline banquet

Nicholls State University head football coach Tim Rebowe is the keynote speaker for the Lafourche Chamber of Commerce's annual awards banquet on Jan. 11.

The banquet will be held at the Wellness Center of Thibodaux Regional, 726 N. Acadia Road, Thibodaux.

Cancer center hires development coordinator

Mary Bird Perkins TGMC Cancer Center has hired Haleigh Brown as its new development coordinator.

She will be responsible for the implementation and growth of the philanthropic development program to raise awareness and support for the cancer center, the hospital said in a news release.

Brown is a Baton Rouge native and a graduate of the University of Alabama where she received a bachelor of science degree in commerce and business administration and a minor in healthcare management.

She previously was director of admissions and marketing at the Good Samaritan Rehab and Nursing Center in New Orleans. She is also a licensed nursing facility administrator.

 

SBA accepting small business award nominees

The Small Business Administration is accepting nominations for its 2018 National Small Business Week Awards, including the annual Small Business Person of the Year.

Terrebonne chamber banquet set for Jan. 24

Tickets are on sale for the Houma-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce's annual banquet and awards ceremony.

It’s scheduled for 6-9 p.m. Jan. 24 at the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center.

At the banquet, the chamber will recognize its outgoing and incoming officers, give several awards and recognize Terrebonne’s Teenager of the Year and the recipient of HTV’s Eugene Folse Outstanding Veteran award.

The Courier's Terrebonne's Most Useful Citizen for 2017 will also be named.

The keynote speaker will be Phil Roop, a Christian minister and motivational speaker.
