Notes: The game is being played on Thursday night because Donaldsonville High is hosting a Class 3A first round playoff game at its home field of Floyd Boutte Memorial Stadium against Union Parish on Friday night … Ascension Catholic made the quarterfinals of the D-IV playoffs last season and the Warriors last qualified for the postseason in 2014 when they fell to Vermilion Catholic in the first round … The Warriors closed the regular season with a 35-6 loss to rival Covenant Christian Academy while the Bulldogs are coming off a 63-16 Week 10 win over St. John … The only two losses for Ascension Catholic this season came to 1A state powers Southern Lab (30-8) and Kentwood (13-7) and the Bulldogs scored 47 points or more on six occasions in the regular season … Trosclair is a former E.D. White Catholic football player and a 2008 graduate of the Thibodaux school … The Bulldogs beat the Warriors district rival CCA 47-0 in Week 5 … The winner of Thursday’s game will play the winner between No. 3 St. Edmund and No. 14 St. Fredrick in the quarterfinal round of the D-IV playoffs.
