Holy Spirit defeated South Lamar in a Class 1A volleyball match on Tuesday night, 25-18, 25-19, 17-25 and 25-22.

The Saints were led by Lilly Laubenthall, who finished with 20 digs. Mary Beth Lake was also key for Holy Spirit as she tallied 16 kills. Willie Durham and Sydney Lake contributed to the win as well, with both players notching 10 kills.

Holy Spirit will play on Thursday in a tri-match at Paul W. Bryant with Northside, while South Lamar will face Berry on Sept. 25.

 

Northside wins area match against Sipsey Valley

Northside defeated Sipsey Valley at home in an area match, 18-25, 25-16, 25-16 and 25-17.

For Northside, Kristen Moore had nine kills and two blocks while Summer Stamps finished with eight kills and six blocks. Allison Swiney also made it on the stat sheet with seven kills and three blocks.

Northside (4-5) will participate in a tri-match at Paul W. Bryant with Holy Spirit. Sipsey Valley will play Holt for its next game.

 

Hale County takes down Bryant

Hale County won an area match against Paul W. Bryant, 25-16, 25-17, 20-25 and 25-21.

For Hale County, Tyneisha Reed led the way with four aces, six assists and eight digs. Khadeja Bryant Finished with four aces, five kills and five digs, while Lyrick Boyd had five aces, six kills and six digs. Asia McMillian also contributed with four aces, 15 assists and three digs.

With the win, Hale County improves to 6-3 overall and will play in the Sipsey Valley invitational this weekend. Paul W. Bryant will participate in a tri-match at home with Holy Spirit and Northside.
