CANTONMENT — A 25-year-old Milton man was driving a car that struck and killed a pedestrian early Thursday morning.

The identity of the pedestrian is unknown, according to a media release from the Florida Highway Patrol. He is described as a white male between the ages of 25 and 30 with black hair, a white cell phone and white ear phones. He was wearing black jeans and tan work boots, the release said.

The accident happened on East Quintette Road in Cantonment at about 2 a.m.

Trenton Rhodes was driving west on the road with two passengers in his car when he struck the pedestrian, the release said.

Alcohol was not a factor.

No one in the vehicle was injured.

The pedestrian was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital, where he died.
