Chipley Police Chief Scott Thompson reports Richard Wilcox, who is said to have walked away from Washington Rehabilitation and Nursing Center Friday night, has been found "safe and sound."

CHIPLEY - The Chipley Police Department is currently investigating a missing persons report involving a walk off from the Washington Rehabilitation and Nursing Center located on Usery Road.

The missing person, 58-year-old Richard Wilcox, is described as a white male, about 5’11" in height, and weighing about 165 lbs. He has shoulder-length grey hair, usually worn in a ponytail and was last seen around 9 p.m. Friday wearing blue jeans and a green striped shirt over a white t-shirt.  

According to reports, Wilcox suffers from dementia, schizophrenia, and is bipolar. Wilcox is considered an endangered person due to his illness, and it is believed he may possibly attempt to return to Panama City area.
