MILTON — The Florida Association of Counties presented Santa Rosa County District 4 Commissioner Rob Williamson with his second consecutive Presidential Advocacy Award at the 2017 FAC Annual Conference and Exposition.

The award annually goes to county commissioners from around the state who have shown exceptional leadership in partnering with FAC to advance the counties' legislative agenda.

"It is an honor to serve Santa Rosa County," Williamson said.

In addition to receiving FAC's Presidential Advocacy Award, Williamson serves as the secretary and treasurer on the Florida Counties Foundation board of directors, as a trustee on the FAC Trust, as the District 1 representative for the FAC Board of Directors, as vice chair of the FAC Health and Safety Committee, and policy leader on the FAC Federal Committee. He is the second vice presidential candidate for FAC in 2018. At the national level, Williamson serves on the Technology & Telecommunications Steering Committee for the National Association of Counties in Washington D.C.

Locally, Williamson serves as chair of the Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners, as chair of the Florida-Alabama Transportation Planning Organization and as a member of the governing board of the Florida Metropolitan Planning Organization Advisory Council.
