No evacuations or other emergency measures in place at this time for CSX rail cars off-gassing liquid carbon dioxide.

CSX crews have evaluated the rail cars off-gassing liquid carbon dioxide and determined the excessive off-gassing was due to weather conditions.

Highway 90 in Harold is expected to reopen by 9:15 a.m. There were no evacuations, no calls to shelter-in-place and no injuries.

The Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners has issued an alert that Highway 90 is closed in Milton while CSX crews investigate rail cars off-gassing liquid carbon dioxide.

In a news release, it was noted off-gassing is not uncommon, however the amount is excessive. Also reported is there are no evacuations, no calls to shelter-in-place and no injuries as of 8:30 a.m.

The release said Highway 90 will be closed from Deaton Bridge to Timber Crest until further notice.
