PACE — Pace High School’s senior class hosted a fundraiser April 11 at the Whataburger on Woodbine Road to raise money for Project Graduation.

“Project Graduation is an alcohol- and drug-free event,” Denise Gullickson, parent of student body president Kaleigh Mayne, said. “We received donations from local businesses, but we are still looking for donations of prizes and money.”

Twenty percent of the fast-food restaurant's proceeds from the event were donated toward the adult-supervised post-graduation party, an alternative to student-run events. The benefit raised $461.40; the restaurant rounded the total up to $500.

The evening included prize giveaways and a photo booth. All participants could choose a free gift, including water bottles, small footballs, lip balm and table tents that said “class of ’17.”

Students still have time to sign up for Project Graduation. Contact Gullickson at PHSprojectgrad2017@gmail.com for more information.
