PENSACOLA — The Pink Pirates of Navarre presented a $13,300 check to the Baptist Health Care Foundation’s Mammogram Fund. The fund helps provide mammograms to qualified women who are financially unable to get one on their own.

“This contribution will allow BHC to impact our community in an even greater way,” Baptist Health Care Foundation Executive Director KC Gartman said. “Early detection is key and Baptist is honored to be able to provide this service at no cost thanks to the generosity of our community.”

According to the National Cancer Institute, more than 240,000 new cases of breast cancer were projected to be diagnosed this year alone. While there is no cure for breast cancer, early detection enables early treatment and increases survival chances.
