FORT WALTON BEACH — A 32-year-old man was charged with felony battery after pushing his victim hard enough to cause her to trip over a coffee table and land on the couch.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputy who responded to the call noticed a scrape on her hand, a red mark and 5-inch long cut on her chest and bruising on her elbow.

She told deputies that she and her boyfriend were talking and she told him she’d put away $20. That made him angry enough to hang up, according to his OCSO arrest report.

Fearing that he would come over, she called her aunt to come and pick her up.

The suspect came to her aunt’s house and they argued again.

After he left, she returned to their home to pack up her things. He came to the house while she was there and pushed her.

He has two previous convictions for battery.
