Fall Festival: 10 a.m., Sunday, St. Benedict Catholic Church, 5479 La. 1, Bertrandville. Mass begins at 10 a.m., with the festival following. It will include food, an auction, a raffle, games and horse rides.

Houma Life Chain: 2 p.m., Sunday, Mr. Ronnie's Donuts, 171 W Tunnel Blvd., Houma. Churches of various denominations will celebrate the annual Houma Life Chain held on Respect Life Sunday. Those participating will line the median of Tunnel Boulevard in Houma and stand prayerfully and silently while holding Life Chain signs.

Men's Day: 2 p.m., Sunday, Mount Hoerb Baptist Church, 412 Railroad Ave., Houma. The church will host the Terrebonne Parish Men's Day Association in celebration of its 45th anniversary. The speaker for the event will be the Rev. Donald Celestin from Mount Hoerb Baptist Church. All affiliated churches are invited to come out and be blessed for the 45 years of service.

Domestic violence awareness: 8 a.m., Oct. 4, Beacon Light of Houma Baptist Church, 4325 West Park Ave., Gray. In support of domestic violence awareness, the church Women's Ministry Diamond Jewel Group, under the leadership of Elder Lanette E. Andrew, is soliciting slightly used handbags filled with personal hygiene items to be donated to the Haven Women's Shelter for battered women and children. Please donate handbags and personal hygiene items any Wednesday or Sunday throughout the month of October.

Fall Festival: 10 a.m., Oct. 7, Dularge Community Baptist Church, 549 Andrew St., Houma. The church will hold a festival open to the community. There are vendor opportunities with booths available at $50. Please contact a committee member if interested in purchasing a booth and to find out what's available to sell.

Musical celebration: 2 p.m., Oct. 8, Greater New Salem Baptist Church, 818 Lafayette St., Houma. The church will celebrate Nicholas "Nick" Ward's 14 years of dedicated service. Various choirs, soloists and praise dancers will be in attendance. All are welcome.

Fall banquet: 7 p.m., Oct. 21. St. Luke The Evangelist Catholic Church, 300 E. 11th St., Thibodaux. The church will hold its annual fall banquet in the community center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. This year’s theme is taken from Ephesians 4:11-16, God’s design for growth. The parishioners are celebrating 32 years of re-establishment and 94 years of existence. Harvest Festival: 6 p.m., Oct. 31, Beacon Light of Houma Baptist Church, 4325 West Park Ave., Gray. The church will host a night of games and various awareness campaigns to ensure the success of the next generation. It is the church's alternative to Halloween. There will be tons of candy giveaways and information available regarding the anti-smoking, anti-bullying and fire prevention campaigns.
