A Houma accounting firm plans to merge with a regional one.

Local CPA firm Lanaux & Felger plans to merge with LaPorte CPAs & Business Advisors effective Dec. 1.

After the merger, LaPorte will have more than 180 employees and annual revenue in excess of $28 million.

The regional firm serves clients from five fully staffed offices in Houma, Metairie, Baton Rouge, Covington and Houston.

On Dec. 1, Lanaux & Felger and the existing LaPorte Houma practice will consolidate in a new location at 304 Corporate Drive, Suite E, in Houma. Lanaux & Felger principals Thomas Lanaux and Mark Felger will assume key leadership roles as directors in LaPorte, and the combined Houma firms will operate as LaPorte CPAs & Business Advisors.

“We will be able to offer our clients additional services and resources as well as sophisticated technical support to address the needs of working in an increasingly complex industry environment,"  Lanaux said. 

Lanaux & Felger was established in 1979, Laporte in 1946.
