United Way Toys for Tots Drive kicks off

 

The Toys for Tots toy drive is kicking into high gear this month in Santa Rosa County. The Marine Corps Reserves and United Way of Santa Rosa County have teamed up to provide this holiday assistance. See the information below to find out how you can help or receive help this holiday season!

How to Help

Look for Toys for Tots boxes at local businesses throughout the county. Donate new, unwrapped toys at any of the following locations:

Gulf Breeze: Interfaith Ministries Thrift Store, First National Bank and Storage Advantage.

Milton/Pace: United Way of Santa Rosa County, City of Milton Firefighters, Dollar General Stores, Edward Jones, Family Dollar, First National Bank, Lifeguard Ambulance Service, SRC Chamber of Commerce, SRC Administrative Offices, SRC Public Works Dept., SRC Public Services Dept., SRC Animal Control Office, SRC Emergency Management, SRC Sheriff’s Dept., SRC Court House, SRC Tax Collector, SRC Property Appraiser, The Oval Office Pub & Grub, AquaBella Fitness Center, Curves, Riviera Fitness Center, Stonebrook Golf and United Bank.

Jay: EREC, Jay Hospital, Jay Town Hall, SRC Federal Credit Union, and United Bank.

Some popular requested items for this year include: bicycles, Barbie dolls, Transformers merchandise, Bakugan merchandise, Disney Princess merchandise, board games, and sports equipment such as basketballs and footballs. Monetary donations are to be made out to: 4th MAW Training Support Group, 211 Farrar St. Bldg. 3450, NAS Pensacola, FL 32508. For more information on how to donate call (850) 452-8762 x3118.

How to Apply

To receive toys, each parent/guardian must apply in person at one of the below locations:

Gulf Breeze: Interfaith Ministries Thrift Store (rear entrance) (4339 Gulf Breeze Pkwy.)

Tuesday thru Thursday from 9 a.m. to Noon

Milton: United Way of Santa Rosa County (6479-A Caroline St.)

Monday thru Friday 8am to 4pm

Jay: Jay Town Hall (3695 Hwy. 4)

Monday thru Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Applicants must bring all of the following documentation: Parent/Guardian Photo ID, social security cards for all members of the household, each applicable child’s birth certificate or health department shot record, and a utility bill (if the photo ID does not show proof of Santa Rosa County residency). Applicable children must live with the parent/guardian who is applying (unless through an agency), the family must live in Santa Rosa County and the children must be age 14 or under as of December 25, 2009. Deadline for applications is December 1.
