Milton Soccer Kicks: Registration for Milton Soccer Kicks begins Aug. 2. Milton Soccer Kicks is a fun, non-competitive, introductory soccer program for children ages three to 10. Participants will learn the fundamentals of soccer while developing better hand-eye coordination, balance and agility. Register noon to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Milton Community Center. The cost per 8-week session is $62 per child. Classes are taught by Angela Stephens and are held outside on Saturday mornings at one of the City of Milton’s fields. Practice begins Sept. 4. F.C. Santa Rosa Soccer: FCSR recreational soccer registration is now open. To register please visit www.FCSantaRosa.com , click on the recreational link and follow instructions. Registration fee is $65.00 for under 6
age group. Players must be 4 to register. Under 8 through Under 18 fee is $80.00. Games start Sept 18th and will end around Thanksgiving. Registration is open until August 18th but late registrations are accepted as long as spaces are available. Fishing for Families Rodeo: The Gulf Power Transformers’ Annual Fishing Rodeo is still scheduled for July 30th and 31st and will be hosted by the Grand Lagoon Yacht Club located at 10653 Gulf Beach Hwy. All proceeds from this event benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Florida which provides the best available Home-Away-From-Home and source of respite and resources for children and families of children suffering a medical crisis. Guaranteed payouts of $1,000 for the Inshore Slam, $500 for speckled trout, redfish and flounder and $250 for the largest fish of any other species. Baseball Boosters seek help: The Pace Baseball Boosters are seeking assistance in offsetting the costs of purchasing the players their 2010 National Championship Rings and also purchasing a flag and banner to honor the members of the 2010 National and Class 5A FHSAA State Champions. Riverwalk Run 5K: The City of Milton will host its second annual 5K run on Oct. 2. The run will begin at 4:30 p.m. The cost to register is $15 until Sept. 15. From Sept. 16 to Sept. 30 is $20 and the fee is $25 is the day of the race. For more information call 983-5466, ext 4208 or visit miltonparks.webs.com.
Basketball camp for all boys and girls: A basketball camp for kids who have completed 4th-9th grade will be held Aug. 2 to Aug. 9 from 9a.m. until noon at Central High School. This camp will be addressing the fundamentals of the game of basketball which will include daily classroom sessions, ball-handling drills, leadership abilities, awards, t-shirt and snacks. West Florida Summer Sports Camps: The University of West Florida will again be hosting numerous summer sports camps through the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics this year, including baseball, basketball, soccer, tennis, and volleyball. Camps will take place throughout the summer, and information and flyers for each posted are posted online at www.GoArgos.com as they become available.
AJGT Coca-Cola Stroke Play” Milton junior golfers ages 12-18 and College golfers are invited to compete in the AJGT Coca Cola Stroke Play Championship in Zachary, La., on the weekend of July 30th – August 1st. The three-day, 36-hole tournament is ranked by the National Junior Golf Scoreboard and hosted by the Arrowhead Junior Golf Tour.
