Wresting practice: Youth Wrestling every Tuesday and Thursday at Hobbs Middle School. Practice will run from 7 to 8:30pm with Olympic Coach Rob Hermann running the Tuesday sessions. Practice is open to all ages and gender. This year wrestlers will face off against Niceville, Crestview, Gulf Breeze, Panama City, and Pensacola YMCA. City of Milton youth basketball registration continues until the league reaches the maximum capacity of players. All boys and girls in kindergarten through eighth-grade are eligible to participate. The cost is $75 per child. Registration forms will be accepted Monday through Friday from noon to 8 p.m. at the Milton Community Center, 5629 Byrom St. Also, a special Saturday sign-up will be held on November 14 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The girl’s league draft will be held on December 11 and the co-ed draft will be on December 12. Practice begins December 14 and the first regular season game will be held on January 5, 2010. Weekly games will be played at the Community Center on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday nights. Some will also be held on Saturdays.

Jingle Bell 5K Run: Register now for the Jingle Bell 5K Run/Walk for Autism to benefit Capstone Academy on Dec. 5. The race is hosted by In-Line Fitness and Moulds Chiropractic and will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the In-Line Fitness location in Stonebrook Plaza in Pace.
The course is a fast, easy course around the Five Points area and through local neighborhoods. To spread the holiday spirit, runners will receive jingle bells to wear on their shoes.
There will be awards for the overall male and female winners in the running, walking, and wheelchair categories. Registration from November 22- December 4 is $20. Registration on the day of the race will be $25. Free T-shirts will be given to the first 300 participants to register.

MHS Soccer Yard Sale: The Milton Soccer Boosters will be holding a yard sale on Dec. 5, from 7 a.m. to noon at the Milton High School bus ramp. Proceeds will benefit the Milton soccer program. For more information call 501-6620.
Arrowhead Junior Golf Tour: Milton area junior golfers ages 12-18 are invited to compete in the AJGT Gulf Coast Junior Championship at Peninsula Golf Club in Gulf Shores, Ala. Dec. 19 and 20. The two-day, 36 hole tournament offers AJGA Tournament Exemptions to Boys and Girls Overall Champions and is ranked by the National Junior Golf Scoreboard. There is a free practice round on Friday, December 18th and each player's entry fee includes a ticket to the full meal, buffet style banquet on Dec. 19 at the Peninsula Golf Club Dining Room beginning at 6:00 P.M. ABATE of Florida, Inc. Gulf Coast Chapter 14th Annual Toy Run Sunday will be held Dec. 6. Registration will start at 9:00 am to 10:45 am at the University Mall Parking Lot in Pensacola. At 11:00 am there will be a police escorted ride to the Hadji Shrine Temple on Nine Mile Road. The cost is $10 per person and one (1) new toy. East Milton Youth Association Volunteers Needed: East Milton Youth Association is looking for volunteers to fill the board positions of Baseball, Soccer and Basketball director. If you would like to volunteer your knowledge and organize any of these sports, please contact 336-3498 or 313-5440. These are demanding but rewarding positions. This is a great opportunity to give back to the youth in the community.
Double Bridge Run and Pensacola Marathon: The 2010 Double Bridge Run is scheduled for Feb. 6, 2010. The Double Bridge Run is a 15K that begins in Pensacola, crosses the Pensacola Bay Bridge and the Bob Sikes Bridge and finishes on Pensacola Beach. There is also a 5K Run/Walk that begins in Gulf Breeze and finishes on Pensacola Beach. Registration is $30 through Dec. 31, and $35 beginning Jan. 1, 2010. Go to pensacolasports.com to register. The Pensacola Marathon will now be in November. The marathon is scheduled for Nov. 14, 2010. The Pensacola Marathon includes a Marathon, Half Marathon and a Kids Marathon. Orthopedic exams: The Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is now providing free orthopaedic exams and assessments to high school and collegiate athletes on Saturday mornings. The “Saturday Morning Athletic Training Room” is available to any student athlete and will be held every Saturday beginning September 5, 2009 and operating through the end of the Football season. Students may check-in from 8-9 a.m. in the Andrews Institute Rehabilitation center in Suite 101 on the Andrews Institute campus; located at 1040 Gulf Breeze Parkway in Gulf Breeze, Fla. The exams are provided on a walk-in basis and the initial assessment is done free of charge. The exams are available to any student athlete in the Gulf Coast area including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
