PJC 2008 Spring Commencement

Pensacola Junior College’s spring commencement is Tuesday, May 6, with about 1,700 students who have earned associate’s degrees, diplomas and certificates participating.

The graduation ceremony is 6 p.m. at the Pensacola Civic Center.

PJC President Tom Delaino is commencement speaker.

Named PJC’s fifth president by the Board of Trustees in  September 2002, Delaino retires at the end of May. Known for his long-time community involvement, he was recently honored with the Pioneer Award at the 48th annual PACE Awards. Sponsored by the Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, the annual event recognizes contributions by the area’s business, corporate and civic leaders.

Communities in Schools of Northwest Florida honored Delaino in November 2007 for his dedication to students in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties at the CIS Champions Dinner. For more information about commencement, call 484-1689.
