Mathew with one “t” comes to us from Winchester, Virginia. He graduated from the University of West Florida in July of 2009 majoring in print journalism with a minor in history. Mat joined the Press Gazette team a month after graduation, and currently writes and takes pictures for the paper.
In college, he specialized in feature writing, but currently covers school board and county commission meetings as his regular beat.
In college, Mat helped form the Sigma Chi fraternity at UWF, and although not a member, has been honored as one its founding fathers.
