Pace Chambers honors those who make area home
“2012 is going to be a great year”
That was the message new Pace Area Chamber of Commerce President Nancy Connley of Gulf Coast Community Bank brought to those who attended the 13th annual Pace Area Chamber of Commerce Banquet at the Farmer’s Opry House in Chumuckla Friday night.
Connley understood the issues every business is facing in light of the economy, but she stressed a positive outlook was something that would make the year better.
She also stressed to the members that participation was the key to getting the most out of their chamber membership.
“I invite you to be a part of the Pace Chamber of Commerce,” Connely said. “If you do not participate then your membership will do nothing for you.
“By participating we will know you as well as you will know us and that is where recommendations come from and the word about you and your business spreads.”
Outgoing president Mark Cotton with Cotton Real Estate was very pleased with the past year and noted that membership had grown slightly over the previous year.
Besides honoring the banquet sponsors and introducing the incoming board members the Pace Area Chamber of Commerce presented the following awards:
Volunteer of the Year – Staff at Advanced Dental Concepts
Community Leader of the Year – Mark Dees, Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church
Large Business of the Year – Taminco
Small Business of the Year – Alyssa’s Antiques and Depot
President’s Award – Nicki Qualls
Woman of the Year – Cindy Anderson, Team Santa Rosa
Man of the Year – Steve Williams, Wal-Mart in Pace
