Biggs sentenced to 25 years
State Attorney Bill Eddins announced Thursday that Bobby Darrel Biggs of Milton was sentenced to 25 years in prison by Circuit Judge Thomas Santurri for two counts of Trafficking in Hydrocodone and five counts of Obtaining Drugs by Fraud. Biggs was also ordered to pay a $525,000 fine.
The 47-year-old was arrested by the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office after he picked up fraudulent prescriptions of hydrocodone and carisoprodol, a muscle relaxer from Adams Pharmacy in Milton. These pick-ups occurred between November 2005 and July 2006. On two of these occasions, Biggs obtained trafficking amounts of the controlled substance hydrocodone.
Biggs’ wife, Cynthia Lee Biggs, was employed as a receptionist at a local physician’s office where the fraudulent prescriptions originated. Cynthia Biggs is currently set for trial the week of November 2nd for Trafficking in Hydrocodone and Obtaining Drugs by Fraud. Her charges arose from her husband’s investigation by Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s investigators.
