Grandpa's First Christmas
Grandpa’s First Christmas, an original drama inspired by Paul Harvey’s classic Christmas short story, “The Man and the Birds,” will be presented by Bay Area Vineyard Church at 7 p.m. Dec. 15 in Milton. Grandpa Jake Wilson, also known as the Professor, doesn’t buy into the Christmas story about God coming to Earth as a man. Foregoing the Christmas Eve service with his family, he has a life-changing encounter with some birds and his granddaughter. With just the right mixture of comedy, apologetics, and thought-provoking drama, playwright and pastor, Darrell Chatraw, has captured the wonder of the Christmas story. Breakfast with Santa

Olivet Baptist Church will present its annual Christmas musical, “Jesus, There's Something About That Name,” during the morning worship hour at 11 a.m. Dec. 16. This compelling musical, based upon one of the most cherished Gaither songs of all time, recalls the excitement surrounding Jesus birth. This powerful presentation combines narration with several heart-warming hymns and favorites, along with moving songs from song writer, Tony Wood, and others. Together, Russell Mauldin and Tony Wood have created a musical which retells God's purpose and plan to send the Promised One: Jesus. Bridges to Circles offering volunteer training
Catholic Charities Bridges to Circles initiative presents a four week training series that will equip volunteers to serve as an ally for family moving from poverty to self-sufficiency. The training will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Jan. 8 at Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Ave. Maria hall, 1212 E. Moreno St., Pensacola. Bridges to Circles is a transformational initiative that partners community volunteers with families wanting to make the journey out of poverty. Heart of God Church Ministries
The Heart of God Church Ministries is asking for donations of gently worn clothes to their Clothes Closet Outreach Ministry. The clothes at the Clothes Cloest are given to the community. Grace Community Church of Northwest Florida
A small group is negotiating with Grace of Sun Valley to send a graduate of The Masters Seminary to the Pensacola area to pastor a local church.
