Ring in the Christmas season this year along the Blackwater River in Milton.
There is one week left in the City of Milton in conjunction with the area Tom Thumb Stores will present Big Screen on the Blackwater – a three week series of holiday movies in historic downtown Milton.
This Friday will be the last showing. Just like Milton’s annual Bands on the Blackwater, you can come downtown with your lawn chair or blanket and watch a movie the night of Dec. 20.
But if it is too cold outside, don’t worry. You can watch the movies from the comfort of your car.
“We are going to have a 25-foot inflatable screen alongside the Blackwater River,” said Linsey Williamson. “You can watch the movie from the comfort of your car and tune in with your radio to enjoy this free outdoor holiday –themed movie.”
The movies will start at 6 p.m. on South Willing St. in Milton.
Dec. 6 there will be a special guest prior to the showing of A Christmas Story as Santa Claus will be at the South Riverwalk Pavilion for the children starting at 5 p.m.
Parents can bring their children to visit Santa and have their picture taken with the jolly old elf and printed on the spot. Photos will be $10 for one 5x7 printed on site. Parents will also be able to purchase more photos at the event or online.
Also while supplies last, there will be free Webkinz to children who have their picture taken with Santa.
Concessions will be made available through the Pace High School Band and personal coolers will be permitted as well.
The City of Milton Parks Department is asking as a courtesy to other movie goers, no smoking please.
