The Florida Highway Patrol is reporting a Wednesday morning accident in Escambia County after a Pace woman fell asleep and crossed into oncoming traffic.

Pamela I. Harris, 43, Pace, was charged with driving on the wrong side of the road, according to an FHP report.

Trooper A.D. Godwin says Harris was going east on County Road 184 at Rocky Branch Rd.

In the westbound lanes, a 2005 Ford pickup truck driven by Kimberly S. Sargent, 39, Jay, was traveling westbound and behind her, also traveling west was a 1999 Chevy pickup driven by 42-year-old Alan Cook, Pace.

The left front of the 2004 Mercedes driven by Harris collided with the left front of the truck driven by Sargent. Following that collision, the Mercedes continued to travel east and hit the left side of the truck driven by Cook.

All three people reported minor injuries. The damage to each truck was reported at $5,000; the damage to the Mercedes was listed at $8,000.
