Yeah, I would just like to say thank you to the Mayor for looking into this log truck situation. They're very dangerous. They travel through our county because the DOT watches them so close on Highway 29. Why should we have to suffer for all these things turning over because they're driving really bad for the load that they are carrying. I just think the mayor's doing a good thing. They ought to pass an ordinance---if the timber ain't coming from our county, they don't need to pass through our county. Thank you.

This is Joyce in Milton, regarding Saturday's Press Gazette: County officials want a tax hike to pay for employee's raises. Santa Rosa County Constitutional Officers---I don't even know what that is---but they but they want me to pay higher property taxes so that their employees can get a salary raise. I have grandchildren in Pace and Milton working at minimum wage. They barely make ends meet and I do not want to pay higher property taxes on my property so that somebody that's making $20,000, $30,000, or $40,000 a year can get a pay raise.

Hello Press Gazette. Jim here. Just read where Bobby was inquiring as to why the ambulance driver was not cited. And your comment was---We anticipate a follow-up story. There should be no follow up story. Here's a news flash for you. Any other city in the United States, that driver would have been given a citation for failure to maintain control of one's vehicle.
Not only is that a state law, but it also a city law. So, there are two people at fault here. The ambulance driver and the police officer who failed to give that driver a citation. Shame, shame on the Milton Police Department for playing favoritism. Thank you Speak Out for listening to me.

Yeah, this is Bobby. I was reading in the Saturday paper, about all the hogs at the trough want another raise with our money. Want to raise taxes. Well, a lot of people ain't getting a raise, they ain't even got a job.
I was wondering if you would print the names and when they were up for election again for everybody that's up there going along with that.
The County Commission could charge a little rent on some of these buildings they let go for nothing, or sell them or something.
Instead, they let the people rent the building for $15 a year. And then they turn right around and want to jack the taxes up. If they got too many buildings, they need to sell them and use the money. Thank you.

It disturbs me the letter from Brenda about the animal shelter---way too many animals put down. I heard a couple of years ago, they get so much money for each animal they put down. And they don't keep them five days, either, like they say. The need to investigate the animals is now, for their sake and soon. Thank you.
